This is a photograph of the display case which held some of our railroad
conductor's watches, a cap, a time table, playing cards and other items
used on the electric trains.
In this case is an Elgin Railroad Watch. Railroad watches never originally had a cover.
When an engineer or a conductor went on duty, they made sure their
watches were synchronized to the main clocks of the railroad as once underway,
these were the only devices to indicate the timing of other trains running on
or across other tracks.
