Womens History Month

The Yolo County Women's History Month Committee held their 20th year luncheon honoring women on March 8, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Community Center in Woodland. The theme for the 2007 Womens History Month is "Generations of Women Moving History Forward". Mary Stephens DeWall was Honorary Chairperson for this year's luncheon and was chosen because of her distinguished 37-year career as the Yolo County librarian. Over 250 people attended the luncheon. Guests enjoyed a dramatic presentation recognizing the contributions of 12 pioneering Yolo County women.

Ten women in vintage costumes portrayed notable women at the luncheon. Shipley Walters, Yolo County Historian narrated the re-enactment program. Margy Yutzy, who represented the historical society, stands to the right of Ms. Walters.
