Neighbor Fair 2007

Several members of the historical society volunteered to man the society's table at the Neighbor's Fair this past October 7 at the grand staircase at River Walk Park on the Sacramento River. The theme for this year's fair was "Celebrating Kids." It was obvious children attending the historical society display loved Old Mary, our 1926 Federal fire engine, which was displayed at the site. Old Mary was built by volunteers using various parts from the Southern Pacific Railroad Maintenance Yard.

1. Seriphene Brandenburg (3 yrs old) adjusting the fireman's hat, Legend Brandenburg (7yrs. old) in the middle and Justice Brandenburg in the black shirt (11 yrs.old) sit in Old Mary. You can tell the boys are really having a good experience on old Mary.
2. Joan Liffring, volunteering in the society's booth chats with Diane Rosales, in the hat and a society member, and a gentleman from the Tuskegee Airmen. The children were interested in items displayed at our table.
3. Mickey Fausett in hat chats with a visitor.
4. Mateo Lopez sits on Old Mary while Antonio Lopez stands next to him.
